Another Yankee loss meant another landmark on BT’s anger meter Tuesday morning.
Now, BT is to a point he hasn’t been as a Yankee fan since the dark days that preceded the 1990s dynasty.
“The Yankees are miles from relevance,” BT said. “They looked like a Double-A squad against a good team in the Rays, just like they did against the Orioles. Their farm system stinks, everybody on this roster stinks outside of Aaron Judge.
“I have not been this down on the New York Yankees since the end of the Stump Merrill era. At least then, you had some kids coming up.”
Just hours before the trade deadline, BT called for the Yanks to blow it up, starting from the top, and doesn’t see how the franchise could get back to its winning ways unless there were new voices in the front office, in the dugout, and elsewhere throughout the organization. It is time to start over.
“The big-league roster blows. Nobody believes in the GM or the manager, nobody is feeling the owner, they’re a .500 team over the last 200 games,” BT said. “I appreciate your optimism, but it’s expired. Nobody wants to hear it. The Yankees are done. Sell.
“It’s a losing trio. The owner is a loser in terms of how he operates. The general manager is a loser, and now the manager is speaking like a loser in how he exonerates the entire team for striking out 18 times on national TV.”
