The Yankees once again failed to take down the Astros, the team that has been the consistent winner that the Bombers can only hope to be at this point, and Brandon Tierney came into Monday’s show ready to let it rip.
His prime target? Brian Cashman.
“I respect the man, he’s had a Hall of Fame career,” BT said. “But Brian Cashman’s time is up.”
After a series sweep in which the Yanks have looked farther away from Houston with each passing year, BT is ready to call the Yankees’ quickly-closing title window a failure, and Cashman has to pay the price for it.
“The Yankees have not developed position players outside of Aaron Judge in 20 years,” BT said. “They have one championship on 20-plus years. You know how they got it? Let’s be honest, they bought it.
“How many different times do you want to try and beat the Astros? You come out with a young Judge, you come out with a young Sanchez, Bird, Sevy, and it was a fun season. you thought the Yankees were getting back to what they used to be. In 2019, you mix it up a little bit, you take on Stanton’s ridiculous contract, Judge is a little older…didn’t work. Now here we are in 2022. Swept! Not a single win! You hit .170 in the playoffs and you tried to win a championship with Aaron Judge and a billion tiny pieces that never fit.”
