BT opened Friday’s show by sounding off on the “mess” that has become the Yankees after a loss to the Rays on Thursday.
“The Yankees have no shot to win anything with the way they’re set up,” BT said. “The Yankees are cooked, man. They’re cooked unless they make one or two major moves.
“I feel like the Yankees haven’t had a good bench since Chili Davis was called on to pinch hit. They’re just stiffs…this is a mess.”
BT was particularly frustrated with Nestor Cortes, who couldn’t get out of the fifth inning after once again struggling in a road start, putting the Yankees in a quick hole that the scuffling offense couldn’t get out of.
“Nestor Cortes is batting practice,” BT said. “I like what he represents, the little engine that could, but he stinks. He’s not good anymore.”
Still, despite their litany of problems, BT says the Yankees are still a big piece or two away from changing the vibes and getting back to the team that they were in the beginning of the year, so they need to go all in.
“If they punt,” BT said. “They are losers.”
