BT says Juan Soto has become biggest villain in Yankee history: 'Bigger than Pedro or Manny'

Brandon Tierney believes Juan Soto would have been a bit of an overpay from the Yankees, and that the Bombers have a chance to actually field a better team if they spend that money wisely elsewhere.

But that doesn’t change the fact that Soto signing with the Mets represents a massive failure for the team that used to run the city.

“Here’s the bottom line. The Yankees gave up a ton for this guy, didn’t go all in at the deadline,” BT said. “The Mets swooped in and stole the Yankees superstar. That’s it.

“I can’t even quantify the depth of the shift in the pecking order and the perception of the Yankees and the Mets. It has completely flipped.”

As for how the Yankees build a more complete roster from here, BT says that talk is for another day. Right now, fans simply need to acknowledge that the Mets got the best of their crosstown rivals.

“Right now, you guys won. Smile, revel, I have nothing to say,” BT said. “You guys swooped in and took Juan Soto from the Yankees. If there’s a Yankee fan that isn’t able to say that, then you’re just not living in reality.

“Right now, there is one clear winner. It’s the Mets. There is one clear loser. It’s the Yankees.”

And now, BT says, there is also one clear villain in the Bronx, as Soto went from beloved to hated in the span of one night.

“He’s a bigger villain than Pedro or Manny Ramirez,” BT said. “He’s a bigger villain than anybody in the history of the Yankees at this point.

“The fact that he was in those pinstripes and looked perfect in them, and the energy in right field with the Creatures...at the end of the day, it meant nothing to him. And that’s what hurts the Yankee fan. It meant nothing.”
