BT says Yanks aren't a playoff team: 'This is the worst Yankees team of this century'

Safe to say, Brandon Tierney is not high on the Yankees after watching another listless night for the bats in a loss to the Twins on Tuesday night.

“This is the worst Yankees team this century,” BT said. “Before anybody starts jumping down my throat, that it’s early, don’t waste your time with that. I don’t want to hear that it’s early. It’s the worst Yankee team this century. I don’t even see a playoff team.

“Starting pitching is really not good. The bullpen, really not that good. And the everyday lineup ain’t it. It’s really unfair to expect Aaron Judge to replicate what he did a year ago, which masked a lot of the same deficiencies that there were last season.”

The Yanks are already facing a large deficit in the division thanks to the historic start to the Rays’ season, and injuries have the Bombers lineup looking like it’s 2013. However, the Yankees were able to get some unexpected production from some of those emergency fill-ins a decade ago, and right now, save for a week of Franchy Cordero hitting home runs, the Bombers have gotten nothing from the bats.

BT wondered if this team was any different than the flawed 2022 Yankees, but as it turns out, they are different. Just not in a good way.

“They are different, but they’re worse,” BT said. “At least they had a functional left fielder in Andrew Benintendi for half a season. They’re not good.”
