Gleyber Torres inexplicably allowed a wide throw to sail through the infield and allow the eventual tying run to score late in Sunday’s extra-inning loss to the Red Sox, and BT says that was the last straw for the two-time All-Star.
“Last night was the end of Torres,” BT said. “Is there anybody still holding out hope for Gleyber Torres?
“Since he entered our viewing sphere, since he broke into the show, what in the world has Gleyber Torres gotten better at? His power numbers have dipped, on-base numbers have dipped, and his level of interest continues to dip as well.”
Back in 2018 or 2019, when Torres was an emerging superstar, mental hiccups like on Sunday night would have been passable. But BT says they now serve as confirmation that Torres isn’t in the team’s long-term plans, and he has to me moved.
“Let me half-ass this one-hop throw, which many of you could have caught with your eyes closed,” BT said. “This is not personal. Where are they going with him? You’re never gonna pay him the money, which is why I’ve always said to trade him.
“So, if you want him, take him.”
