BT: Carlos Rodon in early stages of shoving it down doubters' throats

Carlos Rodon didn’t allow an earned run in six innings of work on Tuesday, lowering his season ERA to 1.72 over three starts.

BT says it could be the start of a real revenge tour after a disastrous debut season in pinstripes last year.

“He’s in the early stages of shoving it down the throats of those who didn’t think he was built for this city,” BT said. “That was a theme around Rodon. ‘He’s soft, he’s gonna crack.’

“He’s gotta do it for 25 more starts…but he’s in the early stage of showing that he’s built for New York. He’s that guy.”

Can Rodon keep this up for a full season? BT believes he can thanks to a revamped arsenal with the help of Gerrit Cole, who has assisted Rodon in perfecting a new pitch.

“He is throwing his cutter 14 percent of the time this year. You know how much he threw it last year? Zero percent,” BT said. “He found a new pitch.”
