BT: Yankees had 'defeatist attitude' with Subway Series lineup
BT went off on the Yankees after Tuesday’s loss to the Mets, particularly the lineup that they trotted out as they were trying to avoid losing a third straight Subway Series game.
“Could you at least show us that you care a lick about beating the Mets? It’s not like you just split the previous series,” BT said. “Last night, that Triple-A lineup that they trotted out was an embarrassment, and it’s all Cashman’s fault.
“Their play is indefensible. I’m done with it.”
BT says Aaron Boone and the Yankees didn’t seem to have much interest in winning on Tuesday with Jahmai Jones leading off and J.D. Davis batting cleanup and serving as protection to Aaron Judge, and the results weren’t surprising, as Jones and Davis combined to go hitless in six at-bats with four strikeouts.
“Last night was a defeatist attitude…there was almost this concession,” BT said. “I know that they did care, but the presentation in the lineup was that they didn’t care if they won. That was unacceptable.”
