The Yankees have added the biggest star available this winter with Juan Soto, and BT doesn’t think the Bombers are close to being done yet.
By this time next week, BT believes the Yanks will have locked up Yoshinobu Yamamoto and continued what will be the franchise’s most transformative offseason since before winning their last World Series title.
“At the end of this week coming up, he’s gonna be a Yankee,” BT said. “The Yankees won’t even be done fully at that point. They’re trying to replicate ’09. They’re going for it.”
BT, even before the end of the regular season, predicted a motivated Hal Steinbrenner would trigger an all-in offseason after a disastrous 2023 campaign. He believes the trade for Soto was the first big sign that the Yankee owner is fed up with falling short, and is going to great lengths to ensure it won’t happen anymore.
“I know things can change fast, but I always thought, even the most tolerant person has a tipping point,” BT said. “Hal Steinbrenner remembered he’s a Steinbrenner. It’s about time.”
