C-Mac has been a daily follower and fan of the Yankees for three decades, and Thursday morning was the worst he’s felt about the team, ever.
“This is the low point - forget the season - this is the low point of my Yankee fandom,” C-Mac said. “I have not been in a worse place as a Yankee fan in my history.
“I’m gonna be 40 years old in December. I started watching this team regularly…in 1993. I’ve been a fan for 30 years, and this is the worst I’ve ever felt. This is the low point of my entire fandom. Watching this team get shut out for consecutive days, to be completely inept and limp offensively in back-to-back nights, with zero chance...whether it’s the double plays, the ineptness, no rallies.”
The Yankees are under .500 on Aug. 17, the latest point in the season in which they’ve been below .500 since early September in 1995. They are in danger of posting their first losing season since 1992, the year before C-Mac’s earliest days as a fan.
“They are just a dreadful team,” C-Mac said. “Watching this slop…I’ve never had to deal with this.”
