C-Mac: If you go to game three to boo Aaron Judge, 'you're an idiot'
Aaron Judge has been flat-out brutal through two games of the World Series, striking out six times and coming up empty in numerous big spots through two losses so far.
In fact, the case can be made that the series looks drastically different had the captain come through in just a couple of the big spots that he has whiffed in during the first two games of the series.
Regardless, even as frustrations mount over Judge’s overall performance in October, Chris McMonigle says booing the MVP would be an incredibly foolish move.
“If you’re planning on going to the stadium and booing Aaron Judge, you’re an idiot,” C-Mac said.
“He’s been brutal. He’s killing them. It has to change. His legacy, the way we think about him, the kind of player he actually is, all of that is on the table…but you go there, and it doesn’t have to be a Trea Turner situation…but he’s been a freaking phenomenal Yankee. I know it was a lot of money, but he chose less money to be a Yankee. He’s the captain. He’s the best player in the sport. He’s an incredible hitter, and we don’t turn on our own.”
Judge has heard boos in the playoffs before, particularly in 2022 when he was struggling badly at the plate. Those struggles have only become more magnified on the biggest stage, but C-Mac says fans need to show the captain their support and faith that he can break out in time to save the Yankees season.
“In introductions, the loudest ovation of any player should be Aaron Judge. Plain and simple,” C-Mac said. “Show him some respect, because he’s earned it.”
