Like many other hosts on Monday and Tuesday morning, C-Mac began his show by saluting the great John Sterling, who announced that his illustrious broadcasting career had come to an end.
“Every once in a while, there is a person who is bigger than the sport,” C-Mac said. “That day is today.”
C-Mac, like many others, grew up on listening to Sterling call Yankee games for years, and says it won’t be the same without Sterling’s iconic voice be synonymous with Yankee summers.
“John Sterling was the soundtrack of my summers,” C-Mac said. “John was the big moment. You waited for the big moment, and you knew it was gonna be good.
“It wasn’t over until John Sterling told me so. That’s how it’s been forever. For my entire life.”
