C-Mac was in the highest of spirits opening up Thursday morning’s show, as he was able to celebrate the acquisition of Juan Soto just hours after news of the trade broke.
“It’s a phenomenal day to be a Yankee fan. It’s a phenomenal day to be a Brian Cashman supporter,” C-Mac said. “This is the biggest slam dunk.”
C-Mac has been higher on the Yankees than many, and he felt as if his faith was rewarded, as the front office finally delivered a superstar that many felt was the kind of acquisition would be a foregone conclusion for the mighty Bombers years ago. By making this trade, the Yankees are showing that they are for real in turning things around in 2024, and for C-Mac the trade was as much of a no-brainer as it gets.
“The Yankees knew they needed to do this,” C-Mac said. “You could tell from the minute Brian Cashman opened his mouth this off-season - maybe he’s not fired, maybe the analytics staff isn’t gone - but you could tell coming off an 82-win season, and the way the offense collapsed, they were gonna do something.
“The Yankees just made a statement that they are back, and they are a team to be reckoned with.”
