With the MLB trade deadline just weeks away, fans are already dreaming of stars their teams could potentially add, and C-Mac would want to see the Yankees go after Juan Soto.
“He hasn’t been quite the same player. He was awful when he first got to San Diego, but he’s been better, and he still gets on base at an unbelievable clip,” C-Mac said. “The Yankees, he would fit there perfectly. You put him in left or right.
“We know what kind of player he is, and he would make the Yankees immensely better. The Yankees should no doubt look into doing it.”
Still, that will depend on the Padres, who are currently six games back of a playoff spot but still holding high expectations after reaching the NLCS last year and adding Xander Bogearts in the offseason.
“There’s a chance they got hot here…but if this season does fall apart, could you see them move Juan Soto?” C-Mac said. “I would think, at some point, you can’t keep writing everybody checks.”
As for what the Yankees would have to give up, C-Mac wouldn’t go as far as Anthony Volpe, but every other prospect would be on the table.
“Would you give up Peraza and Dominguez for Juan Soto? Austin Wells?” C-Mac said. “Would you be willing to give that all up to bring Juan Soto to this team? Quite honestly, I would, but you still need Stanton and Rizzo to get going…those things need to change as well.”
