C-Mac: Marcus Stroman arguably best free agent signing of MLB offseason
Marcus Stroman was again superb for the Yankees on Tuesday night, tossing 5.2 shutout innings to drop his season ERA to a very encouraging 2.82.
The 2023 All-Star has been pitching like he wants to get back to the Midsummer Classic, and C-Mac says the new Yankee starter is pitching like the best free agent signing of the offseason.
“Stroman, he’s just been unbelievable,” C-Mac said. “You can argue that he’s been the best free agent signing of the year. The guy has been great, and with the value they got him for.”
Many fans questioned the signing given Stroman’s up-and-down tenure in New York with the Mets, and his second half flop last season, which could have been related to injury. So far, Stroman has silenced any doubt, and has been a key cog in one of the best rotations in baseball.
“Let’s just take a second and marvel at what the Yankees pitching staff has done,” C-Mac said. “Every single night, they are throwing a starter out there that is going to go five, six, seven innings, guaranteed. Without Gerrit Cole, the starting rotation has been historically good.”
