C-Mac: No Gleyber Torres trade is out there that would be an upgrade for Yankees
Yankee fans calling into C-Mac’s show Monday night felt like Gleyber Torres has been one of the few areas of concern for a team that has been rolling all season.
Still, C-Mac says it would make little sense to trade the struggling second baseman.
“Better second baseman than Gleyber Torres don’t grow on trees. There’s not a lot of them out there,” C-Mac said.
“You can get a corner infielder with some pop. They exist. But guys up the middle? Second basemen? They’re hard to find…there’s not a lot of legitimate, better second baseman that would be available for trade. There’s just not.”
Torres is a free agent at the end of the season, and C-Mac is ready to move on when the time comes. But right now, he doesn’t believe anyone the Yanks could get in a trade would be an upgrade.
“Luis Arraez got traded already. I don’t know how,” C-Mac said. “That could have possibly been a target for the Yankees, but the Padres already did that.”
