The Yankee offense once again gave C-Mac nothing to be happy about as he opened his show shortly after the Bombers lost 4-3 in 10 innings on the road against the Angels.
Griffin Canning became the latest struggling starter to suddenly find a groove against a hapless Yankee lineup that C-Mac can’t stand to watch anymore.
“They make you sick to your stomach on a nightly basis,” C-mac said. “The Yankees are just awful in every way, shape, and form.
“I get it, the guy is throwing hard and dotting spots…the at-bats were atrocious. Stop telling me they worked the count. Great. You worked the count because you struck out 12 times! The middle of this lineup is atrocious!”
C-Mac’s biggest issue was the Yankees’ approach at the plate, in particularly Anthony Rizzo, who continues to look lost at the plate over his last 35 games after an All-Star caliber start to his season.
“He got a 3-0 fastball down the middle and popped it up,” C-Mac said of Rizzo. “We talk about approach, as much as I love [Anthony] Volpe, and we’re all positive on him…his approach at the plate was just terrible tonight. His at-bat in the 10th was just embarrassing. Runner on third with two outs, all you need is a base hit, and he’s swinging from his heels!
“Thanks, Sean Casey! Where’s the approach? You don’t need a home run there.”
