As Yankee fans continue to criticize the current three-headed leadership group of Aaron Boone, Brian Cashman, and Hal Steinbrenner, C-Mac continues to stand by Boone, in particular because the Yankees continue to stay competitive despite the rosters that Cashman has put together.
“Despite the fact that the roster is constructed poorly, and they suffer through injuries all the time, and that nearly every single Baby Bomber failed, he does nothing but post wins,” C-Mac said of Boone.
“They win all the damn time in the regular season. People don’t want to hear that, but it’s true…they make it to the postseason. They win 95-100 games. It’s not good enough, I’m not throwing parades…but we hate all the players on the team. they’re constantly injured. Brian Cashman is constantly plugging in guys and making trades for hurt pitchers at the deadline….all the problems we have with Brian Cashman, Boone has 95-100 wins. How is that possible?”
Of course, eventually, Boone has to get over the hump in the postseason, but C-Mac says he continuously gets flawed teams into the playoffs, and that should be praised.
“You want to know how I’m OK with Aaron Boone? He wins all the time…they win a lot of regular season games,” C-Mac said. “Postseason? Different story. If that continues? Different story.”
