C-Mac: Complain about Yankee lineup all you want, but what better options are there?
C-Mac heard the [several] complaints from Yankee fans about Tuesday’s Subway Series lineup, and he admittedly had his own frustrations with it, specifically Oswaldo Cabrera and Austin Wells being on the bench.
“There’s no reason why Austin Wells shouldn’t be in this lineup,” C-Mac said. “None.”
But C-Mac still sympathizes with Aaron Boone, as he says the Yankee manager doesn’t have many options right now, considering nobody outside of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto seem to be producing during this extended malaise.
“This Yankee lineup is so bad against lefties, even in a small sample size, I understand playing Jahmai Jones,” C-Mac said. “I even understand playing JD Davis.
“Make no mistake, it’s atrocious. They haven’t had a leadoff hitter all year…we can scream all we want about the lineup, and you’re not wrong…but here’s what I’ll tell you. Who is better?”
C-Mac believes the Yankees could have run out a lineup they typically do against righties, and there still would have bene complaints from the fanbase, just after the fact instead of before, once that group wasn’t able to get it done either.
“All we talk about is that Alex Verdugo sucks, Gleyber Torres shouldn’t be on the team, and DJ LeMahieu is washed,” C-Mac said. “The fact of the matter is, the lineup and the roster are atrocious, and it doesn’t matter what order you put the garbage in.”
