The Yankees claimed Jeter Downs off waivers on Tuesday, another failed return for the Red Sox from the Mookie Betts trade.
C-Mac says Yankee fans should remember that when they rip the front office.
“They didn’t trade Aaron Judge,” C-Mac said. “They don’t trade away their great players. They keep them.”
Meanwhile, the Yanks are trading for superstars, acquiring Juan Soto while reportedly being all in on Yoshinobu Yamamoto, leading C-Mac to wonder where all the Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman critics have gone.
“None of those guys are still around,” C-Mac said. “None of those Yankee haters who said the Steinbrenners won’t do it, they don’t care about winning anymore, it’s all about the chicken buckets and the selling of the beer…hard to find any of those right now.
“The Yankee fans who said it, they’re hanging low, they’re not talking about it…while they go trade for Juan Soto and try to get Yamamoto.”
C-Mac has been critical of the front office, but has also maintained perspective when dealing with furious Yankee fans who want to clean house. It could be a lot worse, like the Red Sox trading away their biggest stars, while the Bombers have made the biggest trade splash of the offseason so far.
“All you Cashman and Steinbrenner haters, you Yankee fans turn so fast. ‘Yankees are all in, Yankees are fully operational.’ All it took was trading for Juan Soto,” C-Mac said. “All it took was trading Michael King.
“You should be ashamed of yourselves for ever doubting them.”
