C-Mac: Giancarlo Stanton looks like odd man out right now when Jasson Dominguez returns
C-Mac declared before the season began that he was rooting for Giancarlo Stanton more than he has rooted for any Yankee in his life, but as Stanton continues to struggle, his future in the lineup becomes more uncertain.
“I have to admit, Giancarlo Stanton looks bad,” C-Mac said. “I’m sure many Yankee fans already feel that it’s a guarantee that he’ll look this bad for the rest of the season. I’m not in that camp just yet, but he looked particularly bad today…the swings are bad. He’s straight-up guessing.”
Stanton went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts on Tuesday night, knocking his early-season batting average down to .150. As updates on Jasson Dominguez get more optimistic in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, C-Mac says the heat gets turned up on Stanton.
“Jasson Dominguez might be back relatively soon,” C-Mac said. “I don’t know how much Triple-A or rehab assignment they might give him…but right now, if you ask me when that happens, Stanton is the odd man out.”
