As reports continue to circulate regarding speculation that the Yankees could land Blake Snell on a short-term deal, C-Mac only grows more tired that so many still don’t seem to have come around to reality.
“It drives me absolutely bonkers how it’s still connected to the Yankees,” C-Mac said. “Enough. Snell is not going to be a Yankee. I’ll say it one more time. Snell is not going to be a Yankee.”
C-Mac has had it with the Yankees being linked to Snell on a potential short-term deal, considering the fact that the issue for New York is the level of this year’s payroll, meaning a short-term deal wouldn’t address what is keeping them from signing the reigning NL Cy Young winner in the first place.
So, it’s long past time to give up on the Snell dream.
“If Snell is willing to do that, someone might be willing to give him that contract. It’s not going to be the Yankees,” C-Mac said. “The short-term deal doesn’t make sense for the Yankees. I’ve been telling you this. Nobody wants to listen to me, apparently.
“The short-term deal makes less sense because the high AAV makes less sense for this year.”
