C-Mac’s reaction to the Marcus Stroman signing when he signed on for his Friday morning show?
Not enough.
“Not good enough,” C-Mac said. “Not for what this year has to be. Not for the all-in nature that the Yankees have to be in. Marcus Stroman is quite simply not enough. There has to be another move.
“He’s not a good enough pitcher that makes me feel like I’m comfortable with where this rotation needs to be to be one of, if not the favorite in the American League, which is what they need to be this year, because this year is all we know they have.”
The Yankees signaled that they were going all in on 2024 by making a blockbuster trade for Juan Soto, who is set to hit free agency at the end of the season. The Yankees need to respond by making all-in moves, and adding only Marcus Stroman to the rotation wouldn’t be enough. Whether it’s Blake Snell, Corbin Burnes, or Dylan Cease, C-Mac says there needs to be another move coming, or the Stroman signing on its own isn’t good enough.
“This is the year they have to win,” C-Mac said. “They have Juan Soto for maybe one year…maybe they sign him long term, but I know I have him for one year. I have to go all in.”
