C-Mac thinks it’s a silly argument to say that the Yankees don’t spend money, but there is certainly an argument to be made that they should be spending more.
“They’ve spent money in the wrong places…when you have the highest payroll, it’s hard to scream that they don’t spend money, but they can spend more,” C-Mac said. “If you look at the way the revenue has gone up over the years, and the amount of money they invest back into the payroll, the gap is getting wider. The amount of money they make and the amount of money they put into the team, that gap is getting wider on a yearly basis.”
So, as revenue continues to rise, C-Mac says the Yankees should absolutely be in on the likes of Juan Soto and Yoshinobu Yamamoto this winter.
“There’s no reason they can’t have a higher payroll, spend more money, and do everything you want them to do,” C-Mac said. “But it’s also hard to scream at Hal and say he never spends and he’s nothing like his father.”
