C-Mac’s first two callers of the night included one Yankee fan predicting that they would trade Juan Soto at the deadline, and another believing the Bombers will be swept by the Blue Jays in their first home series of the season.
It was almost too much for C-Mac to take.
“Oh, I think you’re nuts,” he told the first caller. “There’s a lot of money coming off the books next season where they will be able to spend more money. They’re gonna try and sign him. They’re not gonna trade him. I don’t know why you think the team isn’t gonna be good. They’re gonna be fine.”
After the second caller, C-Mac had already had enough.
“Yankee fans, we’re off to a bad start here,” he said. “The season is getting underway, I’m disappointed Montgomery didn’t sign, but the first two calls I take are ‘The Yankees are gonna be awful and are gonna have to trade Juan Soto,’ and ‘The Blue Jays have me shaking in my boots, and I expect to get swept in the opening home series.’ What is wrong with you guys?
“Wake up! Let’s go. Both teams should be excited.”
