Craig Carton has sky-high expectations for the rest of Aaron Judge’s career, and what his legacy will be when it comes to his standing among the most successful franchise in pro sports.

In fact, after seeing Judge save the game on Tuesday night with a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth, Craig says the Yankee slugger just might become better than any other former legend out in Monument Park.

“All you old school baseball fans can yell at me all you want,” Craig said. “He’s got a chance to become the greatest Yankee of all time.

“He’s got the single season American League [home run] record already, and he’s doing stuff that frankly I’ve never seen done before by a guy who didn’t use steroids. I can’t think of anyone else, maybe Ken Griffey Jr.”

Judge, after hitting 62 home runs last season and captivating the baseball world, already has 14 homers in 2023, despite a 10-day IL stint.

“It’s crazy what this dude is doing right now,” Craig said. “Obviously we’ve had some great players, and the Yankees more than anybody else. But he is doing things, the likes of which, I don’t care what your rooting interest is…what this guy does in the big moments he does it in, we’re blessed to see it.”

Of course, the cherry on top would have to be a World Series ring (or several), but Craig says fans should at least put that to the side for now and appreciate the greatness they are witnessing on a nightly basis.

“If you’re a Yankee fan, we’re in the middle of something special,” Craig said. “You just gotta sit back, relax, and acknowledge it.”
