Empire State Building lights up in Yankees colors to honor John Sterling

The Empire State Building lit up in Yankees blue and white on Saturday night to honor the career of John Sterling.

The blue and white could be seen in the New York City skyline once the sun set over the Big Apple, hours after the voice of the Yankees was honored in the Bronx after 36 years in the broadcast booth.

Sterling was honored with gifts from the Yankees and with a pregame ceremony before Saturday afternoon's game, bringing to an end a decorated career that began in 1989, and included calling five World Series titles, more than 5,000 games, and calling every at-bat of Derek Jeter's career.
