Gary Sanchez just launched another titanic home run in his quest for redemption.

Sanchez, who cleared the batter’s eye in dead center field for his first home run of spring training, stepped in on Tuesday against the Tigers and hit another tape-measure shot, this one to left field in what was a no-doubter.

Sanchez had been behind in the count 0-2 before taking a slider and then demolishing a 93 mph fastball from Daniel Norris for a solo blast.

The Yankees would love to see more of this from Sanchez in 2021, and he is certainly capable, hitting 34 home runs in just 106 games in 2019. But his struggles since have been well-known, as the 28-year-old batted .147 in 2020 with 10 home runs across 49 games. He eventually lost his spot as the team’s everyday catcher by the time the playoffs rolled around.

But the Yankees have stuck by Sanchez and are prepared to keep him in a starting role in 2021. Home runs like the one he launched on Tuesday likely have the Yanks feeling good about that decision.
