As Aaron Judge and Juan Soto continue to tear it up for the Yankees, both among the league leaders in nearly every important statistical category, they have conjured up comparisons of former legendary Yankee duos that played together in their primes.
From Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, the comparisons have been frequent, but Gio simply doesn’t get it when we compare players from completely different eras.
“When I see this stuff, it’s almost like, are we still doing this?” Gio said. “Could you get a more different world than Ruth and Gehrig and Judge and Soto in baseball?
“It’s a thing that happens, especially with the Yankees and their rich history, but the comparisons to me are so silly.”
