Gio listened to Brian Cashman’s comments at the GM meetings about the state of the Yankees, the organization’s faith in Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and his latest “no comment” remarks about the Aaron Judge sweepstakes.
Gio wasn’t sure if he was listening to a recording from the last few GM meetings as well.
“Is there a more boring franchise right now than the New York Yankees?” Gio asked. “Bringing these guys back, it’s so stale. Brian Cashman, it’s the same thing. We could have woke up two years ago and been saying the same crap.”
Boomer says Gio just wants Cashman and the Yankees to throw money at their problems, to which Gio said he was absolutely right.
“After being embarrassed the way they were embarrassed? Hell yeah!” Gio said. “Getting swept by the Astros?”
Whatever the Yankees do, Gio says they need to change things up so we don’t have to keep hearing the same vanilla remarks from Cashman every winter.
“Holy hell. No wonder these baseball writers are going crazy,” Gio said. “This is what they have to do, listen to Brian Cashman all the time.”
