Gio: Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone will be back, whether Yankee fans like it or not

The conversation about the futures of Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone have been a major topic for years in Yankees Universe, and after Wednesday’s fifth-inning collapse in the World Series, Gio says any cries for changes in leadership will be pointless.

“The feeling of devastation and anger this morning, none of it is gonna lead to the changes, those impulsive changes that Yankee fans want,” Gio said.

“There is no way they are going to do anything as far as change management in Brian Cashman, his top-hand guys, or Aaron Boone after a year that they go to the World Series. There’s just not.”

But Boomer is not so sure, as he wonders if a change at manager could be made, even after making the World Series for the first time in 15 years.

“I’m not locked in 100 percent on that,” Boomer said. “It’s the totality of the season and th way the season look, the way the team played, and the constant mistakes.

“If they didn’t play the AL Central, I don’t know if they get to where they got…I feel like this was such a wasted opportunity for them.”

Gio isn’t buying it, as he says if Cashman is back, then Boone is back, because Cashman will be making the call on the manager spot, and he won’t move on from Boone.

“The way the Yankees and Brian Cashman look at their seasons is completely different than the way the fans look at their seasons,” Gio said.
