A wild brawl broke out between the Yankees and Phillies’ Single-A teams at George M. Steinbrenner field on Sunday afternoon, with coaches throwing punches at each other before a massive scrum broke out behind home plate.
Erick Brito of the Clearwater Threshers was hit by a pitch in the top of the third, and manager Marty Malloy came down from third base to voice his complaints to the umpire, clearly feeling as if there was some intent to the pitch.
For those interested, I have the full benches clearing fight including the inadvertent HBP on my YouTube channel.

Clearwater manager Marty Malloy threw the first punch at Tarpons pitching coach Gerardo Casadiego.https://t.co/OKe0YVofR2
Malloy was ejected, but he wasn’t done. He eventually threw a punch to the head of Tampa Tarpons pitching coach Gerardo Casadiego, who tried to retaliate with a punch of his own before throwing another at a nearby Threshers coach, and the benches and bullpens promptly emptied.
The game was delayed, ejections were made, and the Threshers won 12-3.
