Tiki & Tierney pitch Isiah Kiner-Falefa to Dodgers in wake of Gavin Lux injury: 'You can take him!'

Dodgers promising youngster Gavin Lux has been lost for the season after tearing his ACL in spring training action on Monday, manager David Roberts confirmed on Tuesday.

Lux, who saw regular playing time last season and hit .276, was expected to handle the starting shortstop role in 2023 with Trea Turner and Corey Seager leaving via free agency in consecutive seasons, but now, there may be a need to make a move.

If that’s the case, Tiki and Tierney hope the Yankees dangle Isiah Kiner-Falefa in front of the Dodgers’ faces.

“IKF? From a Yankee perspective…Just gotta get rid of IKF. He might satisfy what the Dodgers are in the market for. Chris Taylor is there, and Rojas, they got a little bit of depth.”

Miguel Rojas returned to the Dodgers via a trade with the Marlins this offseason, while Chris Taylor could see some time at shortstop. But if Los Angeles winds up needing a more consistent contributor, Tiki and Tierney would love to see IKF head out west, like Joey Gallo did last year.

“We’ll give him to you for free,” BT pleaded. “You can take him!”

Why so eager to unload Kiner-Falefa? Well, he wasn’t much of a contributor at the plate last season, while his defense wasn’t what it was hyped up to be before being acquired from the Twins last offseason. Plus, Tiki and Tierney both want to see hyped prospects Oswald Peraza and Anthony Volpe see regular playing time in 2023, and Kiner-Falefa could eat into that playing time.
