Jerry sounds off after Juan Soto's postgame comments regarding future availability
Juan Soto was back in the Yankee lineup as a DH on Monday night, but didn’t rule out sitting Tuesday, as he would wait and see how his forearm would feel Tuesday morning after playing for the first time since being taken out of Thursday’s game in the Bronx.
The answer puzzled Jerry, who wondered why Soto was seemingly not out of the woods from potentially having to sit after imaging showed nothing but inflammation in his forearm.
“If you have inflammation in the forearm - I’m not being naïve - don’t you just take Advil to reduce the swelling?” Jerry said. “What are we talking about here?
“They said there was no damage…I’ll tell you, hockey players are just different. It’s amazing what we watch hockey players go through on a day in, day out basis…they’ve got all sorts of issues going on in their body, and they skate, they win, they’re banging bodies all over the ice. It’s crazy.”
Soto sat for the entire Dodgers series over the weekend, as the Yankees were likely playing it safe with their star, but at this point, especially with Soto reporting no pain while throwing or swinging a bat, Jerry doesn’t understand how this injury scare isn’t behind Soto by now.
“I love baseball, but give me a break with this stuff,” Jerry said. “Honestly.”
