Sal once again mentioned Juan Soto’s potential departure from the Yankees after the end of this season, but much like BT, Moose isn’t getting down about the possibility that the superstar is just a rental.
In fact, Moose says Soto can lead the Yanks to a title, leave, and it would still have been well worth it.
“Juan Soto can go hit 40-plus home runs, and if he leaves, and the Yankees don’t pay him, and they win a World Series, he has done his job,” Moose said. “Yankee fans won’t care, because they’ve won a World Series for the first time since ’09.”
Sal isn’t buying that mindset for a second.
“Bullcrap. Yeah, you’d be happy, but you’d want more,” Sal said. “Soto wins the MVP, they go out there and win a World Series, you’re telling me you’d be OK with him going to the Mets or somewhere else?”
