Keith: Aaron Judge looking like one of the greatest of all time
Aaron Judge had yet another memorable night on Monday, even if it didn’t include hitting another home run.
This time, it included robbing one, as Judge made an incredible leaping catch at the wall that he turned into a double play, and also recorded his 1,000th career hit in the Yankee win.
For Keith, he is tired of hearing comparisons to Judge, and counterpoints to his greatness. It’s time to simply acknowledge Judge as one of the best to ever do it.
“Aaron Judge. Ridiculous. Incredible. A mutant,” Keith said. “All rise for the greatest of all time. Yeah, I’m already putting that out there.
This guy is incredible.”
Judge seems to be on track for a second MVP award, though some point to Bobby Witt Jr.’s incredible season, which includes elite defense at a premium shortstop position. Keith’s counter would be pointing to Judge’s night in the outfield on Monday, at a premium position itself in center.
“Judge is patrolling center field in a place like Nationals Park,” Keith said. “There is one center fielder that is 6-foot-7 that is athletic enough and agile enough to go get that ball off the top of that fence, have the presence of mind to show that he caught it. Judge is a baseball guy. He’s a baseball mind.
“He’s just a different level of player. You can’t say he doesn’t play defense. He moved from right field to center field.”
