As the Yankees still await clarity on Gerrit Cole and Aaron Judge, Keith sounded off on the team’s handling of injuries, specifically how information is relayed to the fanbase.
“They grind my gears. Love is blind, and they know that…can’t believe them,” Keith said. “Can’t trust them. We have legit trust issues with the Yankees.
“I know they think they’re smarter than everybody…but they have a lot of smart fans that don’t miss a beat…you can’t lie.”
Aaron Boone told reporters that Judge was scheduled to have only two at-bats on Sunday, then was pulled from batting practice the next day and underwent an MRI. Meanwhile, Cole underwent an MRI on Monday, but there has still been no update. Keith is tired of the secrecy and deceit.
“People lie out of fear of the consequences of the truth…but you might as well get to it right away,” Keith said. “If guys are hurt, guys are banged up, just come out and tell us. We understand.”
