Keith: Dodgers showing what happens when you truly go all in on roster additions

The Dodgers overmatched the Yankees again in Monday’s game three, putting the Bombers on the brink of elimination.

Even with Shohei Ohtani and his ailing shoulder doing little aside from a leadoff walk, Los Angeles was still able to cruise to victory and move within one win of a championship.

Keith took the air shortly after the final out, and sounded off on the difference between the Yankees and Dodgers, who continue to make all-in moves over the years that are now paying off.

“They signed him,” Keith said of Ohtani. “And they also signed Yamamoto. Yankees weren’t gonna pay Yamamoto what [the Dodgers] were gonna pay him, and I know Yamamoto wanted to play with Ohtani, but follow me.

“They traded for Jack Flaherty. Yankees looked at his medicals and passed on him. We’re throwing Clarke Schmidt in game three, and that game is over.”

Flaherty looked very strong in game one, while Yamamoto dominated in game two. All over the roster, Keith says it is apparent that the Dodgers have been the more aggressive team when it comes to improving the club, and the Yankees, outside of Juan Soto, have settled for more marginal gains.

“You’re seeing a difference between our bullpen and their bullpen. You can’t get by on the scrap heap, bargain bin guys,” Keith said.

“Did the Yankees make a run at Freddie Freeman when he was a free agent? The Dodgers, every chance they get to improve their team, they do it. And they have injuries. They’re missing starting pitchers...it doesn’t matter when you add.

“You see the difference between who they added at the deadline? Michael Koech, even Kevin Kiermaier, and Tommy Edman!”
