Keith: Don't let haters diminish Yankees' red-hot start

The Yankees won another series with a 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Tuesday night, improving their record to 10-2 on the season.

Sure, two straight wins against the lowly 1-11 Marlins isn’t anything to pop champagne about, but Keith says Yankee fans shouldn’t let anyone diminish the team’s fast start in 2024.

“Don’t let anybody tell you ‘It’s only a couple games. It’s early. They’re only playing the Marlins,’” Keith said. “Let people enjoy things.

“This is a great start coming off of last year. You can’t ask for a better start coming off of last year.”

While it is very early in the season, the games in April count just as much as the games in September, so there’s no reason to diminish what the Yanks have been able to do over the first two weeks of the season.

“‘Who looks at the standings in the second week of the season?’ Me, stupid!” Keith said. “This counts now.

“They’re 5-0 in one-run games. They showed you they can win in a high-scoring game, low-scoring game, close games, blowouts.”
