As Keith evaluates the Yankees offseason, and the offseasons of their divisional rivals, he doesn’t see any big threats in the AL East.
“When I look around the AL East, I’m thinking, ‘who’s done more than the Yankees?’” Keith said. “I think the Rays will take a step back…I don’t think they’re gonna be able to rock with this Yankee team…the Blue Jays didn’t get Ohtani. They’re always frauds.”
The Orioles won the division last year on the heels of their promising youngsters, but outside of bringing back the injured John Means, Baltimore hasn’t don’t much this offseason, and Keith says they need to “prove it” that they can have another 100-win campaign before he believes that they can finish ahead of the Yanks.
“The Yankees were right there with the Orioles…then they started Luis Severino,” Keith said, noting a critical summer series between the Yanks and O’s before the Bombers faded in the playoff race.
