Josh Donaldson announced his retirement on Monday, and Keith made it clear that he is still not over Brian Cashman bringing in the third baseman along with Isiah Kiner-Falefa before the 2022 season.

“I’m not gonna forget it,” Keith said. “And I see some of you goofies…now that Juan Soto is here, we want to absolve Cashman.

“I wasn’t a ‘Fire Cashman’ guy, but I will stand on this. What Brian Cashman did in the winter/offseason of 2022, with that historic team that was the fastest to 50 wins, and that deadline, what he did to not help that team get over the hump…the eternal GM, who is always safe, made a bunch of terrible moves. That Josh Donaldson trade is an all-time stain on his resume, and it wasn’t that long ago.”

Donaldson was a disaster for the Yankees, and while Juan Soto brings new hope for the Yankee offense in 2024, the bad taste of the move for Donaldson hasn’t left Keith just yet.

“Nobody asked for IKF, and we damn sure didn’t ask for Josh Donaldson,” Keith said. “Now he’s retired, and we’re still paying him, because Brian Cashman took on that stupid contract.”
