Keith goes scorched earth on MLB umpires after Aaron Boone's latest ejection

Home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt told reporters that Aaron Boone was thrown out in the first inning of Tuesday’s loss because of something said in the Yankee dugout, not from a fan just above the dugout, which replays seemed to suggest.

Keith opened his show by ripping Wendelstedt and the umpiring as a whole in Major League Baseball, which he says has become too front and center during games.

“Welcome to the ump show. I’ve been saying it for years,” Keith said. “It’s been five years since Gardy was banging on the dugout and the savages in the box rant…as Yankee fans, we still have to watch the Yankees go out and beat whoever they face, and the umps.

“Watch the game! Just watch the game! It’s ridiculous. It’s embarrassing at this point.”

Boone was tossed just two batters into the game after seemingly saying nothing before getting the hook, leading to an incensed Boone yelling that the comments came from the stands above. Wendelstedt could be heard saying “I don’t care who said it, you’re gone,” which Keith says is another example that umpires seem to want to make it all about themselves nowadays.

“It is a whole different ballgame when we can’t even start the game without these umpires and their God complex,” Keith said. “What is that? Why do I know these guys’ names?”
