A caller told Keith McPherson that Mets fans should be embarrassed at the noise Yankee fans were making all night in Citi Field for Tuesday’s Subway Series opener, and having been in the park himself, Keith had to agree.

“Burning them about taking over their stadium, for taking over their ballpark,” Keith said. “I was in it. I saw with my own eyes and was a part of it…regular for us.

“There were some Mets fans spitting at [Yankee fans], pushing and shoving at the end of the game, but during the game, there was nothing they can do about it.”

Yankee fans had plenty to cheer about, as Giancarlo Stanton started the game off with a home run in the top of the first, and the Bombers later erased a 5-1 deficit before holding the lead by squandering a Mets rally in the bottom of the eighth, after Francisco Lindor and Starling Marte struck out with the bases loaded and one out.

“It’s what we do in the Bronx…the Bleacher Creatures were mobbing by the Marina,” Keith said. “We were louder than the Mets fans by the Marina.

“I think that’s just by nature. The Bleacher Creatures with the roll call, and we have our own chants and things we do naturally. The 7 Line tried to get their thing going…but the Bleacher Creatures were on the bridge specifically to haze the 7 Line.”
