Keith listened to Hal Steinbrenner’s comments about changes that could be coming to the Yankees organization, and none of them seem to be addressing the obvious issue.
“Someone help the Yankees. Send help!” Keith said. “You think you’ve uncovered them? They’re out there for everybody to see…it’s not hard to see the problems if you watch every game.
“They are ducking the obvious. And when you are ducking the obvious, it’s because you don’t want to be accountable. You want it to be everything else but the main issue. You couldn’t hit! You kept running guys out there who could not hit! You’re talking about sleeping facilities? I was sleeping at my home facility watching you get no-hit for six innings every game!”
The Yankee offense took a dramatic dip this season, a continuation of struggles that plagued their postseason run a year before. Aside from retaining Aaron Judge, nothing was done to address the lineup, and Keith says as long as that is not being aggressively fixed, any other comments are landing flat.
“They’re making this more complicated than it needs to be,” Keith said.
