Keith: Yankees 'look fraudulent right now,' but have plenty of time to turn it around

The Yankees went 52-29 in their first 81, but as of Wednesday’s loss to the Mets (now 52-30), the Bombers have won just two of their last seven series and are 12-11 in June after a 21-7 May.

“I enjoyed the Subway Series even though the Yankees got dominated, and all we could do was watch – and is tiresome to watch baseball games like that,” Keith McPherson said right in the aftermath of Wednesday’s blowout loss. “I’m just numb to it, and I’ve been fearing this month of June, because I knew they had to stack wins before they started this run – and injuries are not an excuse.”

Hard times don’t last but hard people do, or at least that’s the cliché Keith will roll with, because as he says, the Yankees look like frauds now, but have plenty of time to turn it back on.

“What we just saw? They could still their best foot forward, because their foot is disgusting. Let’s call them out for what they are: they look fraudulent, and look like a one-man show right now,” Keith said. “Give credit where credit is due, but there are Yankees fans right now that are calling for Cashman and Boone – but I guess they don’t know the date, and are one game into the second half of the season. Understand that they’re hurt, missing guys, and this lineup and roster is weak sauce right now, which you can tell by some of these at-bats. They’re not the same team they were a few weeks ago, but it’s June 27th. This is a long school year, and they brought home bad grades this month, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to flunk out, and we don’t know what they’re going to get on their final exam. Do I trust they’ll be able to do better? I do.”
