Loogy hopped on the air for his bridge show shortly after Brian Cashman wrapped up his contentious press conference at the GM Meetings on Tuesday, and he was ready to go off on the state of the Yankees.

“The Yankees have become the Wilpon Mets,” Loogy said. “Congratulations, the thing you mocked forever is what you have become.

“In case you’re keeping score so far this year…they brought back Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman, and then they said ‘Guess what, we’re putting in a room where players can nap.’ The next time Hal spoke, he said ‘We’re gonna bunt more.’ So, let me get this straight. The Yankees will be well-rested, and they will be bunting: the Yankees in 2024.”

Loogy couldn’t believe his ears when Cashman brought up the likes of Sonny Gray in response to criticisms about trades he has made, or that Cashman fired back strongly at the idea that the Yankees are driven by analytics. All in all, Loogy said the comments from Cashman were a mess, and did no favors for how the organization is viewed.

“The Yankees have become so freaking tone deaf in what they say,” Loogy said. “This was a masterclass in bad PR.”
