LOOK: MSNBC's Sam Stein disses Derek Jeter's Hall of Fame credentials

We still don’t know who the one BBWAA voter was that left Derek Jeter off their Hall of Fame ballot for the Class of 2020, robbing The Captain of joining Mariano Rivera as unanimous selections…but we may have found them a friend in MSNBC and Politico's Sam Stein:

Yes, in what may be the ultimate “I’m just here for the ratio” Tweet in the history of New York sports, Stein wrote that a player who was a 14-time All-Star, is sixth all-time in hits, won five World Championships, and was voted for by 396 of 397 electors returning ballots doesn’t belong in the pantheon of the sports elite.

Perhaps Mr. Stein accidentally thinks the Football Hall of Fame is in Cooperstown instead of Canton? Those alliterative consonant sounds are tricky, after all. Or, maybe, someone hacked his account?

Oh, wait, is Sam Stein a Red Sox fan?

Oh well, everyone has their flaws. Even the guy or gal who actually had a ballot and didn’t vote for Jeets, but did get some anonymous dap from the Captain on induction day:
