BT has heard the off-the-field complaints and criticisms in regards to Marcus Stroman, and he isn’t buying it for a second.
“I love this. I might be the only one who loves this,” BT said. “This notion that Marcus Stroman is gonna destroy the Yankees is maybe the dumbest thing I’ve heard all day.
“People mature, he wanted to be a Yankee, and I believe in the Yankees culture. I believe in Aaron Boone’s ability to keep a clubhouse together. I believe in Aaron Judge’s ability to command enough respect for that locker room to stay together. Same for Gerrit Cole.”
BT believes Stroman is not the same person he was when he feuded with Yankee fans on social media after not being traded to the Bronx years ago, and that the Bombers will be better for it. Not to mention, he believes the righty and his fiery personality will be a breath of fresh air on a Yankee team that BT believes could use some more character.
“I think he’s more mature, and I also think he’s desperate,” BT said. “That’s why I think this is a great marriage. The Yankees got Stroman at a great cost…I actually think this is a perfect storm.
“What’s been one of the biggest complaints about the Yankees, outside of them not being good enough? They’re too corporate. They trot zombies out there…you need a couple of guys that color outside the line. Double play, throw your fist in the air…challenge people. Show a little charisma. Show some stones. Too many Yankees are carved out from the same piece of granite.”
