The Yankees will have a total of three All-Stars in 2025, as LHP Max Fried and infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. were named to the team during Sunday’s roster reveal.
Fried, who pitched five innings and got his MLB-leading 11th win in Sunday’s Yankees victory over the Mets, is now 11-2 in 19 starts and ranks third in the AL in both ERA (2.27) and WHIP (0.96). His third career appearances comes as he was voted in on the players ballot that determines 17 of the 23 pitchers and reserves in each league.
Chisholm, who is making his second All-Star appearance, was one of six Commissioner’s Office picks for the AL on the heels of a stellar turnaround this season; he hit just .181 in his first 30 games this season before missing more than a month with an oblique strain, but since returning and moving to third base, he has hit .311 with a .978 OPS.
Fried and Chisholm join Aaron Judge, who was named the first All-Star starter for the AL last month when he le all AL vote-getters in Phase 1 of the All-Star voting.
