Moose, filling in for Sal on Monday, expressed big concerns about the Yankee rotation heading into Opening Day.

“Do you look at this rotation right now, as currently constituted, down 1-0 in a series, giving the ball to Carlos Rodon, and you have the utmost confidence that Rodon is gonna give you a stellar start and not be down 4-0 in the second inning?” Moose said. “How about Marcus Stroman? Nestor Cortes? Luis Gil?

“I have a smile on my face every day looking at this Yankee lineup…I just look at this rotation, and I say to myself, ‘No, this is not good enough.’”

Moose would have liked to have seen the Yankees bite the luxury tax bullet and go out and get Blake Snell, especially after Gerrit Cole went down, but instead, Gil has been named the fifth starter, and Moose doesn’t trust him or anyone in front of him.

“Do I have confidence that they’re not gonna melt on the mound?” Moose said. “Cole, I trust…I don’t have that confidence in Nestor Cortes. Do you have that confidence in Marcus Stroman?”
